TACHI-S Co., Ltd. (President, CEO&COO: Yuichiro Yamamoto, Headquarters: Ome City, Tokyo) conducted a menstrual pain experience training at TACHI-S Aichi Plant (Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture) on February 20, 2025.
The training was part of TACHI-S's “People-Friendly Factory Creation Activities,” a series of activities that TACHI-S has been undertaking since the current fiscal year with the aim of realizing manufacturing that is open to all and creating workplaces where employees can work comfortably. The training was attended by 24 participants, including the plant manager and other managers, and included a seminar on basic knowledge such as the mechanism of menstruation, a simulated menstrual pain experience, and a workshop based on this experience. The simulated experience included tightening screws and bolts, lifting heavy objects from a cart, etc., using the “Perionoid,” a device for experiencing menstrual pain with the cooperation of Linkage, Inc. Participants commented that they could not concentrate on their work if they had pain while working, and that it was difficult to exert effort when lifting heavy objects. The event provided an opportunity for each employee to think about creating a workplace environment where it is easy to discuss menstrual pain and concerns, and to consider how to treat and care for those in different positions.
